“The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast,
knowing us in our light and dark moments,
changing forever just as we do.
Every day it’s a different version of itself.
Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light.
The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”

Outer Space and Inner Space by Ajahn Brahm

Good afternoon from a cold but sunny Surrey… and wishing you all a belated Happy New Year 🙂

As you all know, I greatly appreciate the teachings of the wonderful Ajahn Brahmavamso. The Buddhist Society of Western Australia has very kindly shared the video of the Ajahn’s first talk of the New Year on their You Tube Channel.

Ajahm Brahmavamso’s talk, titled ‘Outer Space and Inner Space’, is a gentle exploration of the appreciation of space all around us – and the value of appreciating ‘just being’. A feelgood, gentle and thoughtful start to 2015 indeed… and one which I am very happy to share with you 🙂

Blessings to all. Sharing such a beautiful and inspirational message for anyone who might be struggled to let go of something. May the words below inspire you!

Love & Lightimage

She let go.

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.

She let go of the judgments.

She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.

She let go of the committee of indecision within her.

She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.

Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice.

She didn’t read a book on how to let go.

She didn’t search the scriptures.

She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.

She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.

About Your Superpower 💫

Such beautiful and wise words from dearest Sheri. We are all amazing souls… and should always remember that. Thank you everyone for being you 🙂

Outside the Lines

Oh, how this sums me up perfectly… the woman who never fitted in yet has now embraced that fact with open arms 🙂 And do you know what? It’s perfectly fine being yourself. Thank you, dearest Pat, for such a beautiful poem 🙂 x x x

I’ve spent a lifetime
trying to color within
the lines, yet knowing
I’m an outside -of-the-line gal.

I did not do well
at fitting in
being popular
never elected queen
of this or that.

Many people have
disapproved of things
I’ve said and done
which tells me that
I’m better at coloring
outside of the lines
than I thought.

There is a price to pay
but I wouldn’t want it
any other way.

… from my Beautiful Surrey (Part Two) …

Good afternoon from a beautifully warm and sunny Surrey.

As all of my dear friends here are aware, I love sharing photographs of this amazing county, which nestles comfortably beneath the bustling cityscape of London. Yesterday evening, we enjoyed a lovely family evening relaxing alongside the River Thames in Shepperton. It’s hard to believe that this very area was so badly flooded during the earlier months of this year.

The photogenic scenes were captured near the incredible Thames Court Inn, an immensely beautiful building in its own right which I hope to photograph when we next visit this very peaceful area. We were also so wonderfully blessed by the presence of a beautiful swan, who seemed to be quite adept at posing for the odd photograph or two 🙂

I am not the world’s greatest photographer but I hope the photos capture the sheer poetic essence of the area… and provides more clues as to why I am so in love with this beautiful county of Surrey.

Overcoming Phobias – Talk by Ajahn Brahmavamso, Buddhist Society WA

376580_443406145703907_1759383951_n

Good evening from a gorgeously warm and sun-kissed Surrey and I’m hoping you’re all enjoying your weekends.

You may have noticed that I have been posting a few articles related to soulmates, past life studies or reincarnation. These subjects have formed the epicentre of deep conversations with my Sister and Grandfather many times over the years. However, in recent times, the conversations with my Sister on these subjects have intensified in depth and focus, primarily because it is becoming apparent that… for want of a better expression… I am beginning to recognise a situation in my own life which falls under the past life/soul grouping category. I will attempt to cover my own thoughts on the subject in a later blog, which I hope to complete this week… and it may well become the most challenging, emotive blog I have posted to date.

However, I digress…

My intense studies into the subjects, accompanied with an ever deepening need for a stronger spiritual direction in my life have happily led me to the incredible talks held by the wonderful Ajahn Brahmavamso at the Buddhist Society in Western Australia. I have enjoyed listening to many of the incredible You Tube videos lovingly shared by the Society on their You Tube Channel. Due to the intensity of the recent studies, I have enjoyed listening to the Venerable Brahmavamso’s guidance, delivered in such a beautifully humorous, yet quintessentially English way.

The video sees the Venerable Brahmavamso sharing his thoughts on how to overcome the fears which can completely overtake the lives of those afflicted by phobic conditions. The past lives association is one of the many themes explored within the video.

I am delighted to share the video with you all and it raises plenty of food for thought. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
